In a showdown, a player with the highest card in a flush wins the pot, while the lowest card is worth nothing. When a player holds the highest possible card, the card is said to be the best, or the high card.
However, the highest possible hand is not always the most beneficial. For example, a pair of 6’s beats a counterfeit card.
